Exterior Description And Setting

This single-storey/ three-bay dwelling sits along a lane perpendicular to the road and faces south east. It has a gabled slated roof which is cemented in places and three stone chimneys (one to the left gable and one on each party wall), all with pyramidal caps. The walls are harled and whitewashed (probably of stone). There is a gabled and slated porch with barge board and finial to the central kitchen bay. All the windows are modern top hung timber replacements.

This structure probably originated with the central kitchen unit, to which a room was subsequently added on either side. It is due for demolition as replacement building consent has been granted.
