Exterior Description And Setting

A two-storey/ three-bay symmetrical farmhouse facing south east. It has a gabled slated roof with unpainted cement rendered chimneys on each gable and metal rainwater goods. Walls are cement rendered and painted white. There is a central porch to the main façade, with gabled and barge-boarded roof. A datestone on its apex reads “1898”. There are 3/3 sliding sash windows on either side of the door, and three spaced equally on the first floor. The ground floor windows are divided into one large and two narrower panes by two vertical glazing bars. Those of the first floor are similar except that the top rail is cut to give each of these three panes segmental heads.

Evaluation

The windows in this building, its condition and attested date all make it an example worth recording. The windows are being replaced with modern double-glazed units, which will seriously alter the building's character reduce its original fabric.
